Thomas Downing

Tom’s major responsibilities include oversight of monthly energy consumption data production for 250+ Yale buildings, University energy/emissions recording and forecasting, and the initiation/project management of energy conservation and renewable energy projects around campus. Tom can often be found speaking to students, faculty, staff, and community groups regarding Yale’s energy and emissions goals, initiatives and experiences. Tom is the leading figure behind setting up the solar panels on the Divinity School and the motion-sensored lighting in Yale buildings.
