Hui Cao

Hui Cao is a professor of Applied Physics and Physics at School of Engineering and Applied Science and an adjunct professor of Physics, Northwestern University. She is also the Director of the NanoPhotonics and Quantum Optics Laboratory.

Cao focuses on understanding and controlling quantum optical processes in nanostructures. Broadly put, her research is concerned with quantum effects and nano photonic devices, both for fundamental physical studies and for applications. Her research involves nanofabtrication, material characterization, optical measurement with high spatial, spectral and temporal resolution, and numerical simulation.
