Professor Weiss’ research interests include Mesopotamia, early agriculture, cities and empires; Holocene paleoclimatology and environmental change. Additionally, Professor Weiss has been the Director since 1978 of the Tell Leilan Project, which has focused on the dynamic relationship between humans and their natural and social environment in one of the largest archaeological sites in Syria.
